Magazine proposal

I will be creating a magazine aimed at students studying at Chelmsford College. It will be called ‘The I-Mag’, I came up with this title as a result of being inspired by ‘Apple’; it has a great extent of publicity in mass media therefore I thought that it will be attractive since the gadgets and products of ‘Apple’ are used worldwide by both males and females. Furthermore it is applicable to both male and female readers for example if it was a name like ‘girl zone’, male readers would not be drawn to it at the same time if it was a name like ‘boys aloud’ then girls would not be drawn to it whereas this way I am confident that males and females will both approach the magazine without hesitation.

The magazine will have a broad content, under taking several essentials that will entertain and inform both readers, some will be relevant for boys and some will be relevant to girls but both genders will be considered when applying something to the magazine. The contents will consist of:
1)Latest trends
2)Fashion for both male and female readers
3)Music
4)Exclusive interviews with people
5)'Coolest' cars
6)Advertisements
7)Problem page
8)Health
9)Photoshoots.
10)Star Letter
11)Fashion

My magazine will be free because the publicity costs are taken over by the college therefore students will not have to pay, more importantly when the college students’ budget is taken into consideration, it is unlikely for them to pay for magazines when they have other needs that need to be met.
The magazine will be published once a fortnight, so that students are updated on late news and so that any problems on the problem page is answered as soon as possible also, the editor get’s to spare time for the magazine.
I will be using two models from the college for the front cover, mainly because it appears attractive and portrays that the magazine is aimed at both genders.
